In the weeks leading up the event, donations were collected from Signature Management’s eleven apartment communities, commercial properties and corporate office. Donations were left outside resident and tenant doors on the day of the event and collected by on-site management, leasing and maintenance teams.

Over the course of four weeks, our teams from all ten of our properties across the region began collecting in-kind and monetary donations, including new and used supplies, toys, food, bedding and more.

In total, Signature Management’s communities and corporate office came together to deliver four full vehicle-loads of supplies, as well as monetary donations, to the NSPCA, helping to enrich the lives of animals in their care.

In addition to this year’s Supply Drive, Signature Management Corp. was proud to establish a Pet Fee Partnership with the NSPCA for the giving year of 2025. This pet fee partnership allocates a portion of all pet fees collected at each of our communities to sponsor a dog kennel at the Norfolk SPCA.

As a pet friendly organization, we are proud to support the Norfolk SPCA in their extraordinary mission “to reduce the need in our community for the sheltering of companion animals and to provide the highest quality of care and adoptions when sheltering animals is necessary.”

In total, 89 VAMA member apartment communities came together as part of this partnership and annual fundraiser to provide essential resources for those experiencing homelessness in their community.

Together, we raised $8,220 in funds and delivered 384 baskets to families in need. A grand total of 5,600 essential care items were donated, valued at $8,800, bringing the total event financial impact to $17,000.

This year’s leadership conference featured nationally-recognized speaker, Jones Loflin, who led a session on “A More Natural Way to Lead.” This session, focusing on leadership development and change management delivered a “fresh and practical blueprint” for recharging as leaders through a four word approach: Grow, Cultivate, Prune and Harvest.

“Jones Loflin’s philosophies on leadership development were refreshing and invigorating for our teams,” said Vice President, Matt Miller. “His high energy delivery kept us engaged and laughing. As leaders, it’s easy to become caught up in the day-to-day operations of our communities and business. Jones’ lively, inspiring presentation gave us perspective and practical tools to help our teams not only succeed, but thrive while doing it,”

The event was capped off with a team building workshop led by Push Comedy Theater, based out of Norfolk, VA. This session on “Leadership, Agility and Communication” used improv as a method for understanding the power of listening and working together.

“The team from Push Comedy Theater had us laughing and learning simultaneously. It was wonderful to see leaders from different areas of our business stepping out of their comfort zone and working together through improv to make their partner look good,” said President Kathy Scott of the experience.

Teams from our corporate office and each of our 10 apartment communities across Coastal Virginia hosted on-site, community-wide events to solicit donations to CHKD’s Light the Way Campaign. Each property kept a bin with flyers and QR codes linked to CHKD’s Walmart Wish List of supplies for youth patients receiving in-patient care.

Throughout the month, all of our employees were encouraged to donate $10 each week, with a reward of wearing jeans on Mondays for each week of donations.

Together, we raised nearly $2,000 and delivered dozens of supplies to the Children’s Pavilion, all of which will go directly toward the hospital’s fundraising goals and youth patients.

Signature Management is a family-owned and managed company with a long history of putting people first and recognizing our responsibility to the communities we serve. We value mental health and well-being for our employees, residents and their families.

Founded nearly 60 years ago, Signature Management has a longstanding relationship with the medical community in our region, including with CHKD and EVMS, continuously donating funds toward the development of advanced medical research and training. As a company, serving this community through this event was a continuation of this focus and commitment.

CHKD’s new mental health hospital will serve vulnerable pediatric patients across our region with a continuum of care of services. Children’s Pavilion provides a setting that integrates mental health care with other routine medical services so that patient feel as comfortable seeking mental health treatment as they do visiting their pediatrician for checkups or their sports medicine physician for an injury on the field.

In support of this partnership, Signature Management began the year by hosting an in-kind donation drive support the vital work of the Virginia Beach SPCA in our community.

Over the course of two weeks in early March, our teams at each of our 10 apartment communities across Hampton Roads gathered new and gently used supplies, including dry and wet food, toys, carriers, linens, newspapers, bedding, and more.

In total, Signature Management’s communities and corporate office came together to deliver three full truckloads of supplies to the VBSPCA, helping the enrich the lives of the animals in their care until they find their forever homes.

As a pet friendly organization passionate about the care and support of animals, we are excited to support the VBSPCA in their incredible goal of caring for over 3,000 pets annually.
